I had to post to [info]quotes for the first time, so this happened.

"The most elementary and valuable statement in science, the beginning of wisdom is: 'I do not know'." - Data, ST:TNG 2x2 Where Silence Has Lease

"To my mind it is wholly irresponsible to go into the world incapable of preventing violence, injury, crime, and death. How feeble is the mindset to accept defenselessness. How unnatural. How cheap. How cowardly. How pathetic." - Ted Nugent

"If one man in 10 was having the sex that I'm having, there would be no war." - Go

"If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy." -- James Madison (4th president of the U.S.)

"I refuse to tip toe through life only to arrive safely at death."

"We must be the change we wish to see in the world" - Mahatma Gandhi

"Live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart...." - Tecumseh, Shawnee

"Every normal man must be tempted at times to spit upon his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats." - Henry Louis Mencken (1880-1956)

"Protecting the children is a good way to get a lot of adults who cant stand up for themselves" -J. Stecher

  • I like that James Madison quote. I may have to add it to my collection. It fits nicely with one of my favorite Benjamin Franklin quotes. ("They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.") I see them both relevant to some of the stuff happening in the country today. More so under Bush than now, but it hasn't gone away yet.
