I got an apartment in Massachusetts
Mon Oct 28 19:21:01 EST 2002
I have an apartment in Arlington Massachusetts. I paid for first
and last month's rent on 10/24/02. It becomes mine on 11/1/2002.
Commute looks like this:
- Catch bus literally right out front, running every 12(?) minutes
- Ride 1.2 miles, ~10 minutes to subway
- Ride subway ~10 minutes to station 0.4 miles from work (comes every 6 minutes?)
So email
me if you're
interested in buying my 2000 Dodge Neon.
It's a 1 bedroom, and expensive for what it is, about as I expected.
I'm happy that I should be able to fit a king sized bed in the bedroom
(and not much else), as long as it'll fit through the halls. There's a
walk in bedroom closet so I won't really need other furniture in the
bedroom, and I've really been wanting a king sized bed.
The stove is electric, and the building doesn't have gas at all,
so I will miss my gas stove.
The livingroom is big enough, I guess. I plan to put a fouton or
something in there for crash space for guests.
The building is apparently wired for internet access
from RCN and AT&T, but I'm hoping to get DSL from
speakeasy.net. I have enjoyed
my
dca.net access in philly, with
608kbits down, 128kbits up DSL, and 5 static IPs, and permission to
run servers, for $50 a month. So I want to keep a similar situation.
Speakeasy offers similar services, with fewer IPs. I'll probably get
the fastest service I can. If I can't get DSL, I'll just go with what's
wired to the building.
so I'm hoping to host small
lan
parties. The electrical outlets are grounded. I plan to have DHCP,
NAT (ip masquerading), and (open) wireless (802.11) set up.
