Got my boots and my gun.
On Tuesday (1/9/01) my boots
finally arrived.
The boots I sent in to be replaced were supposed to get to
frye on 10/2/00. I am very happy
to have them.
On Wednesday
my gun arrived. It has been
a good week.
Of course, I went shooting the day I got it. It was much fun.
Went with
lx and Andrea. 50 rounds of
.45 were fired through my
Kimber 1911 Compact
in black steel, and 100 to 150 rounds were fired through a
glock
9mm that they rented. The target I'm proudest of was my last. 13 rounds
fired at 20 yards, all but one were in a 6" group fairly well centered.
I also dealt with my inability to handle firing a .45 rapidly. The last
time I tried it - double-taps, I was very uncomfortably hesitant.
I got over it. Emptied the magazine at a target at 5 yards as fast as
I could. Hit the target. Felt
excellent. You really aught to
try it sometime. I'm still having a problem with closing my eyes before
shooting sometimes though. I think I did it about 3 times that day.
lx was having some difficulty with
accuracy. He seemed to be gripping the gun awfully hard. He eventually
managed to relax, shot wonderfully, and had the revelation that not
death gripping a gun improves accuracy (the harder you grip, the more
you shake).
Monster's laying on my arm, purring :)
