Monster's 1st checkup

I'm changing jobs. I have a week off between them starting today.
It's Monday. It's awesome.
2 days ago, Saturday, I finally got Monster to the vet, thanks to
mct's nagging. He did
not wanna go in his carrier box thing. I was
trying to push him in and was just like "NO." It was just not happening,
then I tried covering his eyes & putting him in backwards. It worked,
thankfully. He complained the whole way to the vet (~7 minute drive).
It was really upsetting.
He did really good at the vet, very well behaved. I was concerned,
largely because he hasn't been around many people, and I didn't know
were his harness was.
When it was Monster's turn, the vet came out and was like "Monster.. ?
Is that his real name ?" I was amused.
He weighs 9.5 pounds. He said that was big. Vet guessed 8-10 months
old based on his teeth. I got him 5 months ago, and Nita (mct's SO),
who found him, guessed he was 2 months old at the time, for a total of
7 months.
One of the 1st things the vet said when he started looking at Monster
was that he needed a trim (claws), and pulled out clippers. I said "Do
you have to trim him ?" He said "You don't want me to ?" I said "No."
He didn't. He's still got his great claws.
Monster got his shots. I told them I was told (by Nita) not to let
them give him feline leukemia shots, and they were okay with that.
The vet said that he was healthy, and a good cat. I was very happy.
When we were leaving, I said something to the effect that I was
expecting it to be another great challenge to get Monster back in the box.
The lady that was working there disagreed. She held up the box, and
he climbed right out of my arms into the box. Kind of blew my mind.
She said they always want to go home, and win a lot of bets that way.
I heard her comment to another cat owner that their cat would hide
from them the rest of the day for what they just went through. I was
really happy when monster didn't hide from me. He just laid on the
steps, and I petted him, and he purred.
Monster gets neutered in about a month :(
It's really upsetting, but I understand why it's necessary.
