Monster terrified himself

Long ago I heard that mischievous children have, at times, tied cans to cats' tails to torment them. I recently found myself wondering if it would actually work -- would a cat be stupid enough to run terrified from inanimate objects tied to its tail, which were only animated by its act of running ?

Well, now I know. And I didn't even have to intentionally torment monster (my cat) to find out.

There's a big paper bag with tissue paper in my house that Andrea got me candle stuff in. Monster has had such a great time playing in this bag. It's very cute. He just climbs inside and goes to war, or lays down and curls up.

Several days ago, apparently he got startled while trying to exit the bag, and got caught on one of its handles. Did he stop and detangle himself ? Nope. Instead he tore up the stairs in a panic, ran all around the upstairs, back down the stairs, and eventually got the bag off of him by ducking in a small hole. It was thoroughly entertaining.
